What bookish stuff did I pack? (California Edition)

So today is the big day! I'm flying off to California for the WHOLE SUMMER!!!! Crazy right? I'm going to be nannying my cousins and going to a sweet summer camp, and its just going to be a whole lot of awesomeness. Being that summer is the best time to get reading done (since there's no school and all!) I'm bringing A TON of books. Like seriously I have a whole duffel bag just for books. Of course I will be able to use the Library in California, but I figured I should bring along all the books I own that I haven't taken the time to read yet! And its also the perfect time to get started on some of my review books. I thought you guys might want to know what bookish things I packed so here it goes:

Classics
Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux
I've read this one before but its so good that I want to read it again!

Les Miserables by Victor Hugo
I love the musical, and so far I love the book too! Its like a behemoth (over a thousand pages....) so I'm only like a third of the way through and it could take me like, forevermore to finish it especially with the random interjections on French history (do I REALLY need to know every reason why Napoleon lost the battle at Waterloo? It doesn't even pertain to the story.) but I will finish it!!! Eventually.....

For Review
Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Jane Austen and Steven Hockensmith
Not a huge Austen fan, but I do like me some zombies, so I'm excited to read this and see how Steven Hockensmith managed to integrate the two storylines. I hear its quite brilliant.

Everything Else
Feed by M.T. Anderson

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling
Thanks to Zach for lending these to me over the summer!!! I promise not to ruin them. :)

Moonglass by Jessi Kirby
My first summer read!!!! Definitely excited to dig into this one.

Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
Never read anything by Laurie Halse Anderson yet but I've heard she is a fantastic author so I'm definitely excited to read this one and Wintergirls!

It's Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini
I liked the movie, so now I'm curious to compare it to the book.

Sean Griswold's Head by Lindsay Leavitt
I'VE BEEN DYING TO READ THIS FOR FOREVER!!! But I made myself save it for California because I own it and I needed to read Library books first since I couldn't bring them with me. :P

The Girl Who Was on Fire
I've read a few of the essays but not all of them. Hopefully I'll finish by the end of the summer!

The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor
A friend gave this to me and I'm definitely curious to read it. Anything related to Alice in Wonderland is a win in my book.

Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson
Two words: SHINY COVER!!!!! :D

Drought by Pam Bachorz

Sapphique by Catherine Fischer
I STILL haven't read Incarceron but I own an ARC of Sapphique so I figured I'd bring it along in case I got Incarceron from the Library in California.

My Poem Journal
I love to write poetry (if you want to you can read some of it here) and I always write it in a little notebook. I've already filled one and so this is my second.

My Devotion Journal
Just a notebook where I write about me and my journey with God.

Mountain Trailways for Youth by Mrs. Charles E. Cowman
My Mom bought this for me. Its a great little daily devotional book. The author has one of the most unfortunate last names. XD

Start Here: Do Hard Things Right Where You Are by Alex and Brett Harris
I loved Alex and Brett's first book Do Hard Things and this one builds off of it so I'm excited to read it.

My Bible
Can't leave home without it. :)

Dug Down Deep: Unearthing What I Believe and Why it Matters by Joshua Harris
I've been reading this book along with my devotions and its really awesome. Everything I've read by Joshua Harris I've really enjoyed.

So that is everything bookish that I packed with me! Hopefully I'll get around to reading all of it and more. And no worries folks I'll still be able to blog while I'm in California! Haha. Otherwise that would be a pretty long hiatus.

What are you guys doing over the summer? Anything exciting?

Oh and I GRADUATED!!!! HECK YESSS!!!!!

Julia :)
