Words Wednesday: The Fault in Our Stars Edition [29]

A chance for me to highlight some of my favorite book quotes! This week it's all about The Fault in Our Stars by John Green because I just can't stress how much I LOVE THIS BOOK. So here are all of my favorite quotes from TFioS! Well, not all my favorite quotes since some of them are spoilery. :P But have no fear the ones I chose are spoil free! So below you have all my (spoil free) favorite quotes from The Fault in Our Stars.

Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book.

Hint: That last quote? Yeah that was aimed at you guys. Namely: THE FUTURE OF THE WORLD DEPENDS ON YOU READING THIS BOOK!

Oh and could some awesome guy come along and use that love speech on me please? If a guy did, I would probably marry him on the spot. And yes, I do realize that the speech is epically cheesy and way overdramatic but coming out of a teen guys mouth it would probably be rendered irresistibly adorable. >.<

A chance for me to highlight some of my favorite book quotes! This week's quote is from The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Steven Chbosky. Well quotes actually. I really enjoyed this book and it is so full of beautiful quotes that I couldn't pick just one. So here are just some of my favorites.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is such a brilliant book. It really captures the feelings of being a teenager. All the qualms and the moments of happiness too. Definitely worth reading!

This quote is unbelievably true. Sometimes we'll just ignore problems in our lives but that doesn't make them disappear. To really deal with our problems we have to face them head on.

If you haven't read Please Ignore Vera Dietz then you really should. Its absolutely fantastic and this quote is just one of the many examples of its awesomeness.

This quote is the perfect example of why I LOVE this book. Frankie is such a badass. She is definitely on my list of favorite fictional females. You can't buy awesomeness like hers.

I've come to discover I'm always drawn to quotes that mention small things or people doing great things. Probably because I'm so small myself. :P

I finally got around to finishing the Percy Jackson series!!! *fist pump* It was epically amazing, and I'm basically in love with Percy now. Even though he is like only 16.... But come on he was played by Logan Lerman in the movie whose like 18 so its not like I'm THAT creepy right? XD

A chance for me to highlight some of my favorite book quotes! This week's quote is from City of Bones by Cassandra Clare.

Ohhh the good old Cassandra Clare sarcasm. I had seen this quote all over the blogosphere and at first I didn't really get why the quote was all that amazing and then I read City of Bones, and in context? Absolutely brilliant. Also its shocking the difference between Mortal Instruments: Joking about taking clothes off to bind wounds, and Twilight: Actually taking clothes off to bind wounds. XD At least I think that happens in Twilight..... Or does Jacob just take off his shirt to help clean a wound? Same difference. Haha. Anyway awesome quote. And a fairly awesome book series to boot.

A chance for me to highlight some awesome book quotes! This week's quote is from Keeping the Moon by Sarah Dessen

"You should never be surprised when someone treats you with respect, you should expect it."

I like this quote but I also feel that its a bit.... I don't know presumptuous? Like "Hey everyone! Yeah that's right RESPECT ME!" I don't know. Maybe its because I don't get a lot of respect in my everyday life? That's what happens when you're only 5' tall. Everyone treats you like a Jr. Higher...... Maybe my view of respect is skewed because of that. So thoughts? Should we just expect to be respected? Or do you think we should have to earn it? Personally I think respect needs to be earned at least in some respects. 

Quote besides, this is my favorite Sarah Dessen book. It totally spoke to me when I was going through a really tough time in Jr. High. I. LOVE. IT.

There are so many moments in my life when I've wanted everything to just stop. Of course that isn't a possibility but still. I wish there was a pause button for life. So that we could savor all the little things. The special moments that we don't want to forget.

I've just started reading the Harry Potter series for the first time and I'm LOVING them so far! While I was reading The Chamber of Secrets this quote really stood out to me. Its soooo true. I mean we all have the ability to murder or steal but its the fact that we CHOOSE not to that's really important!

A chance for me to highlight some of my favorite book quotes! This week's quote is from The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.

"I have hated words and I have loved them, and I hope I have made them right."

Words are powerful. Sometimes you love them. Sometimes you hate them. But their influence is undeniable. I definitely understand the last part about having made them right. Thats how I feel about my poetry. I hope that I have made something "right" and worthwhile.

The Book Thief is such a powerful book. At first I hated it. Then I understood it. Now I love it.

A chance for me to highlight some of my favorite book quotes! This week's quote is from Millicent Min, Girl Genius by Lisa Yee.

"What my parents kept failing to understand was how happy I was when I was alone with my books. There was no pressure to perform or be cute, and books never disappoint-- unless, of course, you've chosen a bad one. But then, you can always put it down and pick up another one without any repercussions." 

I feel the same way about books. Books don't judge you or talk back to you. They let you escape into another world for awhile. And if you don't like the book you're reading there are millions of others to choose from! Books make great friends. Of course if you start talking to your books and ignoring the real people in your life then I would get a bit worried.....

I LOVE Millicent Min, Girl Genius! Mostly because I connect with all of the super hilarious Asian jokes. Pretty much any book by an Asian author has some sort of Asian inside joke in it which I find amazingly wonderful. Asian authors for the win!

A chance for me to highlight some of my favorite book quotes! This week's quote is from Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery.

"It's not what the world holds for you. It's what you bring to it."

This is such a great quote. We can't expect things of the world, or of our life. We have to go out and make it happen!

I LOVE Anne of Green Gables! Seriously one of the best books ever. I grew up watching the movie adaption and having my mom read this book to me. We still use the phrase "kindred spirits" in our house to signify close friends!
