What is the thing you like most about reading book blogs? Is it the reviews, author guest posts, articles, giveaways, or something else entirely?
Ummm all of the above??? Haha. Seriously I love all of it. Finding new books to read is one of my favorite things about book blogs. Reading other peoples thoughts on books I've already read is cool too. But I think that I especially love that when I read other book blogs I don't feel so crazy for loving books because there are other people out there who love the as much as I do! They make me realize that I'm not alone!
Follow Friday is an opportunity to discover and follow other book related blogs! Want to join? Check it out at Parajunkee.

Do you have an under-noticed author that you think we should all know about?
Wow I'll have to think about this one.....Well I don't know if she's under-noticed but I love Justina Chen Headley's books! I loved Nothing But the Half Truth (and a Few White Lies). Its the only book I've ever read that addressed halfies like me!!! In fact that book was what introduced me to the word hapa. And then there's her book North of Beautiful which I ADORE. There's an Asian guy in it. Enough said. And finally Girl: Overboard. Its about a girl. Whose Asian. Who snowboards. Ummm love much??? Learning how to snowboard is like one of my dreams! Haha. Anyway enough gushing on my part. As you can see I love Justina Chen Headley's books. If you haven't read them you really, really should. Especially if you're Asian! Haha.

Hopping through. I love her books too. She's actually dropped Headley (think she got divorced) and is back to Justine Chen.

I'm definitely always on the lookout for asian authors although a lot of them make me sad (cynthia pon made me sad >.< ). Thanks for the recommendation!

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! SHE WAS MY CHOICE TOO! Great minds think alike. I adore all of her books soo much.
ReplyDeleteI can heartily recommend our own Tribute Books author, Molly Roe. She is the author of the young adult historical fiction, Call Me Kate: Meeting the Molly Maguires. It is the first of a trilogy of books about three sisters growing up in a coal mining town during the Civil War era. It also won the Mom's Choice Award.
ReplyDeleteI also love the books of Tommie Lyn - a fantastic self-published author.
I remember enjoying North of Beautiful - hadn't really heard about geocaching before that book!
