Words Wednesday [2]
A chance for me to highlight some of my favorite book quotes! This weeks quote is from The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien.
"'The strongest must seek a way, say you? But I say: let the ploughman plough, but choose an otter for swimming, and for running light over grass and leaf, or over snow - an Elf.'
With that he sprang forth nimbly, and then Frodo noticed as if for the first time, though he had long known it, that the Elf had no boots, but wore only light shoes as he always did, and his feet made little imprint in the snow."
Oh how I wish I were elf like! Unfortunately I have tried many times and failed, to tread lightly and footprintless on snow. Although I do frequently practice my "elf walk" where I try to walk as silently as possible through the woods. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of woods in Arizona. But when the opportunity presents itself I definitely try!
I couldn't help doing a quote from The Lord of the Rings because they are my absolute favorite books. If you haven't read them yet you need to! They are amazing.
Oh and don't forget to vote in the "What book should I read and review next?" poll! Its on the left sidebar
